Chris: The trailer for Hellboy II is out, and it looks amazing. Ron Perlman's delivery of the last line of dialogue in the clip is priceless, and pure Hellboy. Roll on next summer.

Marcus: Note that I'm posting this article without any particular bias. I always assumed (without caring too much either way to be honest) that both formats had an equal chance of winning/co-existing happily until whatever format(s) come next.

Chris: Just how cool is this? Somebody watched the "slitscan" sequence that Douglas Trumbull developed for Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey and decided to write a computer program to warp the images back into their original format. The results are fascinating.

Gareth: Hot Fuzz is very funny and without a doubt worth seeing if you enjoyed Shaun of the Dead and/or Spaced, or really if you have a sense of humour in general.

Gareth: The fan-made independent Max Payne movie, Payne and Redemption seems like it might be awesome. The official one should hopefully be good as well, but the word independent makes the former that much more interesting. Although then again, it might be difficult to get good quality bullettime on an independent film budget.

gareth: From the imdb trivia: "Instead of using CGI, Aronofsky chose to do the special effects for the film by using micro-photography of chemical reactions on tiny petri dishes. He has said that CGI would take away from the timelessness of the film and that he wants the film to stand the test of time." That's just one reason why it's so awesome.
