Gareth: A bunch of GNU guys have forked Firefox and are calling itIceweasel, due to issues with the licensing on the Firefox logo (doesn't licensing always f*ck things up?). I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, really.

Gareth: Here are some ports of common GNU tools to Windows. This is part of why open source is so awesome - now you can use grep just about anywhere.

gareth: All you have to do is unzip the archive to a directory of your choice, then add the dir to the Windows PATH variable. Alternatively, you could just unzip it to C:\Windows\System32 if you're not worried about organization.

Gareth: The Last Measure Operating System "is a minimalist operating system targetting multimedia presentations", which is their way of saying it's only reason to exist is to show stuff like the infamous goatse (link to the wikipedia article, not the actual image), and play "HEY EVERYBODY, I’M LOOKING AT GAY PORNO" as loud as possible.
