gareth: Actually when I tried to use it it makes a big horrible mess of everything, but apparently it works for other people I talked to so there you go.

Justin: Which is better, 3ds max or Maya? Some detest the very thought of asking such a question while others relish in it. I believe the debate has its place but perhaps some get put off by it because it usually turns into the proverbial flame war. Digital Raster asks the question and also has a short video that explains many of the key differences.

justin: I guess if the question means nothing to you, then you wont want to watch the Quicktime video - but if like me you fidn the question intriguing, then you'll find this video educational.
justin: NB: This video is part of a much larger set available from Digital Raster designed to orient artists switching from Max to Maya or vice versa. The also produce a handy tool which will alter Max's viewport navigation to emulate Maya's.

Marcus: Our very own Justin, professional and talented 3D animator extraordinaire, is currently looking for work but is far too modest to link to his own stuff. So I've done it for him.

Marcus: Justin's showreel on YouTube. Dig the giant robot, the jet engine stuff I don't understand, and those groovy "turned into real statues" Transformer models, baby.
Marcus: Justin's website: JD3D. With a gallery, and free 3D Studio Max plugins, and whatnot.
justin: Thanks Marcus!
justin: Hopefully if anyone knows anywhere they could use a good 3d modeller, could they please put me in touch. Even if it's abroad - I want to to travel the world and see it from a darkened studio!
gareth: I like the jet thrust nozzle thingy.
